Blaze was owner surrendered with another golden due to their owner no longer able to keep them because of a move to another state.  Unfortunately Jake passed away from an intestinal blockage we were unaware he was suffering from shortly after coming into rescue.  Blaze was a bit on the wild side to say the least.  He was not allowed in the house of his previous owners so was clueless when it came to house manners.  He was going to need a lot of work to make him adoptable and as sometimes happens I fell in love with his enthusiastic attitude.  The thought of placing him tore at my heart and I made the tough decision to keep him.  He has settled a bit but still gets a little stir crazy so obedience and agility is a great outlet for him.  We started competing in Rally and he's finished his Rally Excellent title.  He's also completed his Beginner Novice Title with two second places out of the three legs required for the title!!  GO BLAZE!!  We've run into a snag with agility due to his desire to meet all the workers on the course--typical golden I'm told--but he's understanding his job more and more and I see agility titles in his future!!
